While opening the default messaging or texting app on my Android smartphone, some users reported an error "unfortunately messaging has stopped" which caused the messaging app to crash every time users wanted to send an SMS or view incoming text messages. This is a common Android app bug which can be solved by applying some simple steps such as restarting your device, app clearing or installing a third party mobile messenger app. If you are one of those android users affected by the unfortunately messaging has stopped error message, here are some possible fixes:

How to fix Unfortunately messaging has stopped error on Android devices - smartphones and tablets

Fix for "Messaging has stopped" error message

Method 1:  Restart device

This is the simplest method but one that is most overlooked. Sometimes simply restarting your phone can fix the messaging has stopped error.

Method 2: Clear cache and data

  1. Go to Settings >> Apps >> All
  2. From the list of app select "Messages" (or any default app you use for texting on your phone)
  3. Tap "Clear cache" and "Clear Data"
  4. Now restart device and open your SMS or messaging app and send a message as a test

Method 3:  Installing third party, alternative SMS/messaging app

If it is your pre-installed or default messaging app that is crashing constantly or popping up error messages, it is time to try a third party messenger app. I am currently using Textra, which is a highly customization alternative to the default Android SMS app.  Just install such app and follow the onscreen information to set it as the new default messaging app.

Method 4: Check for system updates

A lot of the times such app crashes and errors start to appear after you've update your operating system to a newer version. This means the error is caused by a bug that was left unresolved in the new update. If that is the case, your device manufacturer will release another update soon to fix any issues in the earlier release. So head to settings >> systems >> device info >> check for updates. If there is any new update, install it.

Some blogs have also suggested going to Safe Mode, but I don't see how that fixes this issue. So we will skip that extra step.

This unfortunately camera has stopped error is just a system bug that is not a big issue if you have stock Android installed. Usually a simple restart or clearing cache will fix this error. If you have a custom OS like Cyanogenmod installed, you may have to flash another compatible ROM via recovery. I got this error message on my Nexus 6p whenever I opened the camera app. Then the camera app would simply force close and I would be unable to take any pictures. Here are the possible fix for unfortunately camera has stopped error for Android Smartphones and tablets.

Camera has stopped working error message screenshot

Method 1: Restart phone

Well, this is a very straightforward step that could easily fix the camera has stopped error on your smartphone.

Method 2: Clear cache and data of your Camera application

Most of the time, the application cache may cause this error. To fix it, simply follow these steps:

  • Go to Settings >> Apps (or application manager) >> Swipe to go to All
  • Now scroll down the list of apps, and tap on Camera
  • Tap Clear Cache & Clear Data
  • Now restart your smartphone

Open the camera app and check for the error.

Method 3: Formatting external microSD card

This method is applicable only if you save your photos on your external microSD card. Simply remove the SDcard and move all of files stored on it to your hard drive. Then insert the microSD card in your PC or Laptops SDcard slot and format it. To format it, right click on the microSD card drive after it appears on your PC, then select Format. Before formatting , you can also try checking for error by right clicking your SDcard and selecting Properties >> Tools >> Check

Method 4: For Custom ROM users (Cyanogenmod, SlimROM etc)

If you are a custom ROM user, you are not new to flashing Operating systems via recovery. If youre getting this error pop up, you will need to reflash the operating system along with a compatible GAPPs package. If it still doesnt work, you will have to flash a different ROM.

Sometimes, you may get this error when you have too many pictures in your gallery. Just move the excess images to your PC hard drive or an external storage. After clearing your gallery, open your Camera app and take pictures.

Samsung Galaxy Gear users have also reported this error, where they would get a black screen and then the message saying camera has stopped working. Most android devices running stock OS dont usually get the Unfortunately System UI has stopped error. This error is common among smartphones running customized Android operating systems. Some examples of customized OSs include Samsungs Touchwiz, ASUSs ZenUI, HTCs Sense UI and Huaweis Emotion UI. This error is mostly caused by a faulty or buggy software update and is usually fixed by another update. This can also happen if you have certain third party launcher installed. Here are some of the possible fixes for Unfortunately the System UI has stopped error on Android smartphones and tablets particularly Samsung Galaxy Note, HTC and ASUS Zenfone devices:

Method 1: Remove third party launcher

If you have any third party launcher app like NOVA, Trebuchet, Apex or Go launcher installed, uninstall them. Such launcher apps may conflict with your system UI because your system is not granting it sufficient permission to function stably.

Method 2: Remove apps that you recently installed

Sometimes normal apps may also conflict with your system UI. Identify your most recently installed apps and uninstall them.

Method 3: Wipe Cache Partition

A simple reboot may be all you need to fix this error. So try it. If that didnt fix it, try booting into recovery and clearing caches. The best option is to wipe cache partition. First of all figure out the button combination to boot into fastboot. Usually, you turn off your phone and hold the volume down + power button until the recovery menu appears. Then you can use the volume buttons to highlight recovery option. Once inside the recovery, again use the volume button to select wipe cache partition and then press power button to select it.

If the problem still persists, all you can do is ignore it and wait for another system update to fix this issue. You may also try downloading the previous version of the Android operating system for your device and then install it manually via recovery. However, going the OS flashing route, will require you to unlock your devices bootloader, which can void your device warranty. But if you have no problem with losing warranty, you can even install other custom ROMs that will surely fix the Unfortunately System UI has stopped error on your device.

The Restricted Access Changed Emergency service is blocked is a notification messages that commonly appears on Moto X, Moto G and Nexus phones. The alert message constantly appears in the notification slider and then disappears. This is not an Android bug or hardware error, but a simple message of the emergency call feature on your phone. While this is a totally harmless message, it does get annoying and frustrating when the Restricted access changed data service is blocked or voice service is blocked message always appears on the notification.

So, is there a fix for this notification message? No. This is just a built-in message so there is no need to worry unless you are unable to send SMS or receive calls. If thats the case, a simple reboot might fix the SMS and call issues. This error message may also occur if you have a faulty Sim card or you swap different sim cards multiple times a day. The message also pops up when you change networks i.e. from 2g to 3g or 3g to 4g and vice versa. And it mainly appears while using mobile data and disappears while connected to Wi-Fi networks. Turning off or switching from 3G to 2G seems to have fixed the problem for some but that really isnt a fix if youre trying to use fast mobile data connection.

How to fix Restricted Access Changed notification error on Android phones

Screenshot of Android notification panel with restricted access error message

Method 1: Blocking Phone notification using third party app

Before you do this, check if your Android device has a built-in feature to disable notifications. This feature may be available in Android 5.0 Lollipop and Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating systems, but some systems may not give access to the phone app. Go to settings >> sounds and notifications >> Apps >> Scroll down and tap on Phone and disable notification. If your phone doesnt have that feature, its time to give some third party apps a try.

If you Android phone is rooted, there is a fix. You can download apps that can block Restricted access changed notification.

  • Download Notification blocker app like this one: Notify Block
  • Open the app >> You will be asked to grant notification access >> Tap OK
  • Now on the app uncheck Hide System Apps
  • Scroll down and tap on Phone (com.android.phone)

Now reboot device and see if the error still persists. Within the notify blocker app, you may find several Phone icons. If the above steps didnt work, try disabling notifications for each of the Phone icons on the list.

Method 2: For rooted Devices: Install Notification cleaner app

For this you will need to root your Android and also install Xposed framework. Most rooters will know how to do this.
  • Install Notify Clean and open it
  • Scroll down and tap Phone
  • Tap on Restricted access changed
  • Now reboot device and the phone notification will be blocked

Did any of the above method fix this notification error on your Android phone? Do you have any other alternative methods or solution? Drop a comment below.

There are several methods to fix error -18 in Google Play Store. This error prevents users from downloading or updating Android apps. If youve just purchased a new phone and getting this error code while attempting an app installation, you may have set the wrong date/time on your device. In such a case, simply resetting the correct time will fix the issue. Sometimes Play Store error 18 is caused by low storage issue and you will need to make enough space in your device before app installation. Another way to fix Google Play Store error code 18 is by clearing data of Google Play from the app settings. Multiple solutions for app can't install error code -18 in Google Play Store are mentioned below:

Logo of Google Play Store or Android Market logo

Method 1: Reset Data and Time

  • Go to Settings >> Data & Time
  • Check if the time and date is correct
  • Unselect Automatic data and time and Time Zone
  • Manually set the correct date and time
  • Go back to homescreen

  • Tap Clear cache and Clear Data
  • Again from All >> Select Google Service Framework
  • Tap Clear cache and Clear Data
  • Additionally, clear data for Download Manager
  • Note: First, backup everything in downloads folder

Method 3: Uninstall Play Store updates

This is another common fix for Google Play compatibility issues with an OS update. Many users of Android 5.0 Lollipop and Android 6.0 Marshmallow have employed the uninstalling Google Play Store update method to fix various error codes.
  • Go to Settings >> Apps >> All
  • Scroll down and select Google Play Store
  • Tap Uninstall updates >> OK
  • Now update or download apps/games from Play Store

The Google Play Store app will be reverted to its original version and it will automatically update to the latest version as soon as you are online.

Method 4: Free storage space

Sometimes the error 18 may appear in Google Play Store if you have very low storage space in your device or microSD card. In such a case, do the following to free the internal or external storage:
  • Uninstall unwanted games/apps
  • Move all of the photos from your phone to your PC or external harddrive
  • Delete system cache, junk files etc using apps like cleanmaster
  • Move apps to SDcard/external storage from app settings. If you have older operating systems you may not be able to do this.
  • Wipe cache partition

The Unfortunately Contacts has stopped error is a bug affecting a lot of Android smartphones- specially Samsung devices like Galaxy S5, S4, Galaxy S6, S7, Note 4, Note 5 etc. Thus, one of the reasons for this contacts app error could be due to a Samsung Touchwiz bug. However, sometimes third party app may also interfere with the stock contacts or people app and lead to this error. Due to this error, users cant open the contacts list to search, add or edit saved contacts. In the error message, the users only get the option to tap OK and the contacts app exits or force closes. Sometimes the error may also pop up while opening your dialer or call logs. Here are some possible methods to fix unfortunately contacts has stopped error on Android smartphones and tablets:

Screenshot of Android error: "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped"

How to fix contacts app has stopped error caused by third party apps

You may have knowingly or unknowingly granted access to your contacts to multiple third party apps. Some apps known to link with contacts app include Facebook, Facebook messenger, Google +, Twitter, Contacts+ etc. Try uninstalling each of these apps and see if that solved the problem. You may not be able to completely uninstall some apps, in that case simply uninstall updates. To uninstall updates, go to Settings >> Apps >> All >> scroll down and select the app >> Tap Unisntall Updates. Also, make sure you have uninstalled any third party dialer from your device along with third party address book app.

Solution 2: Reset App Preferences

One of our readers, got the "contacts has stopped" error after her device received Android 6.0 marshmallow update. The problem was fixed by resetting app permissions.
  1. Go to Settings >> Apps (application manager)
  2. Tap on the three dots on the top right
  3. Tap "Reset app preferences"
  4. Optionally, also select "Reset default apps"

Solution 3: Clearing cache and data for Contacts app.

First make sure you sync your contacts to your Gmail account. Go to Settings >> Accounts >> Google >> Tap on your Gmail address >> Tap on Contacts. After your contacts is synced proceed to below steps to wipe cache from your Contacts app:
  • Go to Settings >> Apps >> All
  • Scroll down and select Contacts or People
  • Tap Clear Data and Clear Cache
  • Reboot device and see if you still get that error

Solution 4: Deleting voicemail

Sometimes this error pops up when you have a lot of voicemail saved on your device. Many people forget that the deleted voicemails are actually in the deleted voicemail folder and you need to empty it to get rid of the voicemails completely. Deleting voicemails can also solve dialer force closing issues. If you dont know how to delete voicemail on Android, here are the methods
  • Open Google Voice app
  • Select Voicemail (VM)
  • Now press menu or the 3 vertical dots on the upper right
  • Tap Delete

Solution 5: Change Date/Time format

Weirdly, many Samsung Galaxy smartphone users have fixed this contacts app automatically closing issue by simply editing the time format from the date & time settings. Here is how you can do that:
  • Go to Settings >> Data & time
  • Tap on Use 24 hour format or uncheck it if already is
  • Now also choose a different date format

Try opening the contacts app and dialer and check for the error.

One of the above methods will work for most users, but if you have any other methods to fix Unfortunately contacts has stopped error drop a comment below.

This is a common issue faced by many Android users. Due to the Google Play Store not accessible
or Google Play Store has stopped working error, updating apps or installing new ones becomes almost impossible. Users get this error message as soon as they open the Google market app or Play Store. While users have resolved this issue by simply restarting their smartphone or tablet, that hasnt worked as a long term solution as the error pops up again and again. Some have tried signing in using a different Gmail (google) account and still unable to access the Play Store. If you are getting the Play Store has stopped or not accessible error, here is the most effective fix:

  • Go to system Settings
  • Select Apps >> All
  • From the list, scroll down and select Google Play Store
  • Tap Uninstall updates

You have now reverted back to the original/factory version of the Play Store. The Android market app will eventually update to the latest version but this seems to resolve the issue of not being able to open Google Play app.

Another method that may resolve the Play store inaccessible error is by downloading or updating apps via Google Play Store website on your desktop. Simply open the browser on your computer and then log into Play Store using your username and password. Select the app or game you want to update/install and then select your device (Smartphone/tablet). Click install or update. The download should automatically begin.

If you are using a custom ROM, then you will need to reflash the correct GAPPs package to get rid of the "Google Play Services has stopped" error.

Error retrieving information from server [DF-DLA-11] [DF-DLA-12]. Both of these Google Play Store errors pop up during app installation and specially during an app update. The first thing you'd want to check is your internet connection. If your internet connection is too slow it may return the above errors. Also restart your phone or tablet and see if that fixed these Google Play errors. If the issue is still unresolved, fear not, this post has several easy solutions for these errors.

I've found that Mi Band, the best selling low-price fitness tracker, has many bugs and incompatibility issues. The first bug was the Mi Fit Error 96013 that didn't let me sync my Mi Band 1S (pulse) with the Mi Fit app and the next one is an issue with charging. Now the Mi Band is not charging via my Mi Power Bank. When I connect the Mi Band to the power bank, the LEDs light up and blink to show that its charging, but after few seconds it stops charging because the powerbank turns off automatically. Alternately, you could charge it via a phone charger or simply connect the MiBand to your phone via OTG cable. However, there is an easy solution if you really want to charge your Mi Band fitness tracker via powerbank.

How to fix Power bank doesn't charge Mi Band issue

Mi band connected to Power Bank but not charging
Mi Band stops charging via Power Bank

I have found that Mi Band is not compatible with any power banks because high capacity powerbanks detect it as fully charged.  The weird solution to this issue is to connect both your smartphone and Mi Band to your Power Bank. By doing so, your power bank doesn't go to sleep and will charge your Mi Band while its charging your phone. Mi Band has a tiny 45mAh battery so you won't have to wait too long for it to fully charge.

Unfortunately, if you have only one USB port on your Power Bank and experiencing charging issues with your Mi Band, you will have to get another Power Bank. I got myself an EC Technology  22400mAh power bank and I use it to charge most of my devices including the Mi Band.

This is a post about the solution for install button issue during APK file (third party app) installation in Android devices. The scenario of the problem is like this: While trying to install third party app via apk files, users are unable to click or tap the "install" sign. It seems as if only the install button is disabled because the cancel button works just fine. This issue actually occurs if you have any screen filter apps installed in your device. Some apps that are known to cause this apk file installation problem include Twilight, Screen Adjuster, Easy Eye, JuiceDefender, Darker and Bluelight Filter.

    This post deals with:
Why cant I click install button for APK files
Install button not working with APK files
    Fix APK install button disabled

The quick and easy fix is to first disable the screen filter app. You can check if the screen adjuster app is active by looking at your notification panel.

Now all you have to do is bring down the notification panel and then tap on the screen adjuster icon to disable/stop it. You can also open the screen filter app itself and then disabled it in the app. After disabling it, simply open your apk file and tap on install and this time it will install without problem. Once the installation is complete, you can again turn the screen filter back on.
