Many Samsung Galaxy smartphone users whove installed Nova launcher are getting Unfortunately, TouchWiz home has stopped error. This error was fairly common on older devices like Samsung Galaxy S4, Note 5 etc, but now even the newer S6 and S7 Edge is experiencing this problem.

This error may pop up every time your press the capacitive button to get back to the home screen. The latest version of Nova launcher has fixed this Touchwiz error on most Samsung devices. So if you havent updated Nova yet, go to Google Play Store and do it , and that should fix the problem. However, if the problem still persists, there are couple of methods you can try. Here are the quick methods to fix Touchwiz has stopped error for Nova launcher installed Samsung Galaxy phones:

Samsung Galaxy Touchwiz stopped fix

Method 1: Make sure Nova is set as the default home screen

  • Go to Settings >> Device >> Applications >> Default
  • For Home Screen select Nova Launcher
It Nova Launcher is already set as default Home screen, then try this: First using steps above, set Touchwiz as home and then again go back and set Nova as home launcher.

Method 2: Uninstall and re-install Nova Launcher

This is a very straightforward method. Simply uninstall and re-install Nova Launcher from Google Play Store. Then proceed to set Nova as default Home launcher.

Method 3: Install another launcher

There are now numerous third party launchers than can perform on the same level as Nova. Try Apex, which comes closest to Nova in terms of features. Another one, is Google Now Launcher, which is probably the most minimalistic launcher officially developed by Google themselves.

Recently,I got Error 194 in Google Play Store while updating and downloading apps like Google docs, Whatsapp, Hangout, Asphalt 8, Boom Beach etc on my new Android phone. Example error format is like this- "Facebook" could not be downloaded due to an error (194). This is yet another annoying bug affecting Google Play Store but fortunately it can be resolved by following some simple steps to clear Google Play cache or uninstalling Play Store updates from the app settings. Another common solution is to remove your Google account from the settings and then add it back. Here are the methods to fix Google Play Store error code 194 on Android smartphones and tablets:

How to fix Google Play Store Error 194

"Facebook" could not be downloaded due to an error, (194)

Method 1: Clear Play Store Cache and Data

  • Go to Settings >> Apps >> swipe left to "All" tab
  • Scroll down the list and tap "Google Play Store"
  • Tap "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data"
  • Now open Play Store and try to update/download the app or game

If you are still getting this error 194 and unable to download any app proceed to method 2

Method 2: Remove and add back Google account

This method is widely used to resolve common Play Store errors like error 489, error 927 and RPC-S:7 errors.

  • Go to Settings >> Accounts >> Tap "Google"
  • Select your Google Gmail account (used with your Play Store)
  • Click the menu button (or the three dotted line top right)
  • Select "Remove account"
  • Now go back to Settings >> Accounts >> Tap "Add account" or tap the "+" sign

This method has fixed the error 194 for most users. It will require you to uninstall the update of Google Play Store so that it is reverted to its original factory version. After getting back the old version of Play Store you will no longer get this error. The Play Store will automatically update to the latest version.
  • Go to Settings >> Apps >> swipe left to "All" tab

Screenshot of Mi-Fit app error:96013 while attempting sign in
For the price, the Mi Band is a great fitness tracker device but it doesn't have the best app support. I encountered my first problem, while trying  to sign up or create a new Mi account via the Mi Fit app. I got an error: can't sign in Error 96013. I tried signing up via email and then via phone, but both methods returned the same app error.

About MiBand: The Mi Band is an affordable fitness tracker manufacturer by Xiaomi. It tracks steps, calories burned, sleep and the new version (Mi Band 1S or Mi Band Pulse) even measures heart rate. The tracker doesn't have any LED display, but it shows your daily goal via three white LED lights. Your daily fitness data is then synced to your smartphone via Mi Fit app (available for both Android and iOS devices).

Without a Mi Fit account you won't be able to sync your Mi Band to your smartphone. So I was scratching my head why this was happening. Though I paid only $18 for this device, I expected it to work well since Xiaomi has such a great reputation as a high-end manufacturer.

Fortunately, I found that the Mi Band Mi Fit sync error occurs only in the mobile app and it can be bypassed by creating a Mi account on your desktop. Here are the methods on how to fix error 96013 while creating Mi account for Mi-Band:

  1. Open the Mi account sign up  page on your desktop.
  2. Enter your  personal information
  3. Your Mi account will be now be successfully created
    • Make sure you verify your email in settings.
  4. Now open the Mi Fit app on your smartphone
  5. Enter your username and password
  6. Now your MiBand will start syncing

The steps are very simple and I'm sure most of the users will figure it out themselves. Still, this is a useful post for those who quickly want to solve the Mi Fit Error 96013.

You might have set your iTunes to automatically sync to your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. When that option is enabled, every time you plug your iDevice into the computer your app data starts syncing. Here is how you can stop or turn off auto sync in iTunes:
  1. Open iTunes on your PC or Mac
  2. From the top menu select iTunes >> Preferences (For Windows, Choose Edit >> Preferences)
  3. Go to "Devices" tab
  4. Check the box for "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically".

That's it. Now your iPhone or iPad won't sync automatically to iTunes.

After plugging in your iPhone, sometimes iTunes may not recognize it. The same thing might happen and your Mac or Windows PC stops recognizing your iPad and iPods. So how do you fix it? Before deeming it a hardware problem, make sure to check all the software related issues that might be causing this "failed to recognize device" error. There is actually long post by apple support on this but I don't think you need to read it all to fix this iPhone not recognized in iTunes problem.

How to fix iTunes not recognizing iPhone, iPad and iPod

  1. Reboot your iPhone and then connect it to iTunes
    • To reboot: Hold home button (round button at the end of the screen) + Sleep button (on top of phone) until you get passed "slide to switch off" message and see the Apple logo. Now let go of the buttons since your phone restarting.
  2. Check and Update iTunes to the latest version
  3. Disconnect device, restart your Mac or PC and then again re-connect
  4. Try a different USB port (will fix the problem in case of faulty port)
  5. Try a different USB cable
  6. Plug out device, uninstall  iTunes completely and then reinstall it
  7. If all the above fails, back up your stuffs and then factory reset your iPhone, iPad or iPod
    • Steps: Backup your device via iTunes or iCloud. Then on your device, go to Settings >> General >> Tap "Reset"  >> Tap "Erase All content and Settings". Wait for sometime until your device is restored to factory settings. Now you can restore from icloud or iTunes.

Well, I hope one of the above steps fixed your "iPhone-iPad-iPod not recognized on iTunes" issue. If you think this is a device problem, you can check by connecting it to a different computer. Sometimes it might be caused due to a fault connector which needs repairing. However, most of the time its just a small software glitch.
